I do not read to think. I do not read to learn. I do not read to search for truth. I know the truth, and the truth is hardly what I need. I read to dream!

Creative

Well, it's been a while since I wrote here. Life is going good though. Everything is moving forward finally, and the sun is shining through the clouds at last for everyone.
I'm feeling very creative this morning, I need to finish a painting that is currently still standing on my easel, but after that I have six hours to kill, so I may break out some 3d media. I'm not sure yet, but I'll do something.

And here's another inspiring vintage photo;

Do something creative today!

Me?? A job??

Today I did a mock up of my final piece for art, and I'm actually really proud of how it turned out. I'm also now officially employed...standard part time under 16hours work, at a local indian restraunt doing wating and delivery jobs. Good money, good people, nice place. I pretty much love it at the moment, the novelty hasn't worn off yet. Just a small job to keep me going through my college days..although it turns out to be a bit of a bigger job than I thought. Also being surrounded by stunning indian smells all evening, isn't the best plan...infact it's a good way to waste my wages :p Very soon I plan to take pictures of my art and photography course books and upload them on here. I'm just waiting to upload them till my work is handed in, then no plagurism or any problems can occur.

Suckerpunch

As soon as I saw the advert, I knew I had to go and see this film. Which I just got back from. During research I heard alot of shit about the storyline and plot. So many people said it didn't flow, or make sense...but it so did, IF you paid any attention. The plot was actually quite clever, I'll admit it gets a bit complicated with the dreams within a dreams type scenario, but it was really good. Emily Browning was playing on rather one note, but she looked so good, you barley notice, and when you consider all the action, singing vocals, serious dramatic acting, she did a really good job anyway. I loved all the action sequences, they are the perfect set-up for a game! I love how diverse they were, and the different enemies they had to come up against. You could really get to grips with the conflicts and contrasts with the dream sequences and her real real life. Actually a rather powerful message, and don't get me wrong the same message of sisterhood has been done over and over and over again, but never in quite such a fantasy way. If you think you're anything like me, you'll love this movie

Steampunk Couture

Ok...so I've always loved the victorians, and always been fairly interested in Steampunk...I think it's all so beautiful! But then I discovered Steampunk Couture, which has really jump started my love for steampunk into gear.

So Steampunk Couture is owned and run by a woman called Kato, who it turns out lived not far from me in rainy Wales, but who moved to LA to make a living from her clothing designs. They are seriously some of the most gorgeous things.

She designs and makes everything herself, with a very small crew of helpers, like an assisstant and an in house photographer.

Katos' also one very smexy woman;

So show her some love, and buy things from her website, when it is up and running again, with her new spring line.
